Starbucks Hack: Making a Chai Latte at Home

Hello my name is Neghin, and I’m addicted to chai lattes!

Okay okay, I’m kidding. I think. But if you’re here, reading this, you’re probably addicted too, so yay let’s rejoice together! Well either that or you want to save a pretty penny, or time, and just make these yummy drinks at home so let’s get into it...
Actually let’s side track for one sec (blame it on the pregnancy brain...). I have two different at home chai lattes that I make. There’s this one - and I decided to start with this one because it’s WAY easier, uses less ingredients, prep time is 30 seconds, and it’s literally THE Starbucks hack (we’re using the same chai mix as Starbucks)! But there’s another version I make too. It’s completely from scratch and a lot healthier (bc you can control the amount of sugar etc) but it does require more prep time and ingredients. So if you’re interested in that recipe let me know and I’ll do a post on that one as well!

Okay...now let’s get into this recipe hack!!

Step 1. Grab a cup of ice. When I’m home I love using THESE Mason Jars as my glassware. But if I’m in the go I typically use one of my reusable Starbucks iced coffee cups!

Step 2. Add THIS Chai Latte mix! This is the exact same brand and mix that Starbucks uses! 🤯 I either stock up when I do my weekly Whole Foods grocery run or when I’m being lazy (which seems to be all the time nowadays šŸ¤°šŸ») I’ll just order it on amazon in bulk and it comes straight to my door - thank you prime pantry! Because the Mason Jars have measurements on it I’ve found that I like this following ratio: 10 ounces of this chai latte mix to 2 ounces of almond milk! Now by no means do you need to measure this out when making your drink, especially if you’re using a cup that doesn’t have the measurements on it because to be honest you may not like it as strong as I do or you may want the taste even stronger than me. So you should just pour and taste until you find what you like! That’s what I do whenever I’m not using a mason jar - just eyeball how much chai latte mix to put in, add almond milk, taste, and repeat until I like how it tastes!

Step 3. Now top it off with THIS Almond Milk! I love using this brand over all others because it literally has 3 ingredients - water, organic almonds & salt. It’s literally as clean and simple as if I was making my own almond milk but without the hassle of, well, making your own almond milk LOL.

Bonus Step 4. Now last but not least, is this bonus step. This is so unnecessary but I’m extra so even my at home chai latte has to be a little extra šŸ˜‚ After I do the above 3 steps, I like to add a dash or two of cinnamon on top! Not only is cinnamon actually really beneficial for your health but it just ties the entire drink together, ya know?!

Now stir, sip & enjoy!

And don’t forget to let me know in the comments below if you want the chai latte recipe that’s made from scratch!

xx, Neghin
