THE 5 MINUTE FACE FOR WHEN YOU'RE IN A RUSH!

It's 8:45 am & your baby is having a meltdown so you've only brushed your teeth (or you know, you slept in...oh the good ol' days).  But then your calendar reminder goes off and you have a Zoom meeting in 15 mins.  So you hand your baby off to dad, throw on a cute top and pull your hair back and you only have 5 mins left - HELP!  Mascara or Contour? Foundation and Concealer?  Don't worry, I've got you...

1. START WITH YOUR SKIN

Your makeup will only look as good as your skin does.  So make sure your skin is glowing (tip - this will allow you to skip on the highlight when your in a time crunch) & perfectly prepped for makeup application.  I love moisturizers that leave your skin feeling and looking hydrated, glowing and plump!

2. SWIPE UPWARD & ONWARD - MASCARA

Don't skip out on the mascara.  This will open up your eyes and make them look brighter & more defined! Who was dealing with the baby meltdown?! Not me!

3. CONCEAL YOUR WORRIES

We don't have time to apply a full face and perfectly blend it in so grab your favorite concealer and dab some on to cover any of your stress and worries - under your eyes, maskne/breakouts, hyperpigmentation, etc.  Pro Tip - use your finger to blend it in.  The warmth from your finger will help blend in the concealer more quickly than a brush/sponge.  Plus we don't have time to rummage through our makeup bag for that blending brush!

4. ADD SOME COLOR

Now we need to add some warmth and dimension back into our face. And although we won't be bronzing, contouring and blushing we NEED to do something.  You wouldn't want to look 2 dimensional in person, and with Zoom calls already washing you out, its important to add some color back onto your canvas!  Theres 2 ways to go with this - either grab something bright - again, because Zoom, FaceTime, basically anything with a camera, automatically washes you out a bit and you want to add in some youthful color to your cheeks or go with a blush that's more peach/bronze in color.  Why?  Because if you're not going to pop with something bright, you can at least then use the blush almost like a blush and bronzer!  This would personally be the avenue I would take, but do what makes you feel most YOU!

Pro Tip - swipe some on your lid!  Nothing heavy because we don't have time to perfectly blend but just a light wash of color on your eyes to tie in the full look!

ALSO! Don't forget you have a choice when it comes to formulation!  You can do either a traditional powder blush or a cream blush. I typically tend to use powder blushes but when I'm in a rush sometimes I just grab the cream blush because then I don't have to fuss about where my makeup brush is!  Again, its all about saving the minutes here...

5. LIP LOVE

I don't know about you but I feel like my lips always give me away when I'm in a rush - either because they're chapped - ugh - from lack of water or because its normally the last step of your face and the one you have to skip if your out of time.  So don't let that be what gives you away.  My trick is always to have a lip balm or oil on hand because it'll hydrate my lips, but appear to look like I put more effort in that rubbing on a traditional chapstick.  So grab that balm/oil as your walking over to your laptop and voila - you're all ready and its only 8:59 am!
